One cannot deny the fact that India has been one of the most incredible and loved nations across the globe. But have you ever wondered, what makes India so special? Listing down the uncountable achievements of India on a sheet of paper is perhaps impossible for a normal being; such is the greatness of this nation lying in the heart of Asia. However, as a serious attempt to indulge in the readers a sense of pride and honor for being a part of India, I shall try and list down just some of those facts which make India one of the most amazing nations in the world!
#1: India has never invaded any country:
India has always been one of the most powerful nations on earth. As of today, India has the 3rd largest army in the world, which is among the most advanced and nuclear-enabled armies in the world. Even as time and again foreigners have waged war against India, India has never ever invaded any country at least in past 100000 years. This makes it one of the most peaceful nations across the globe. Tolerating the neighbors it has is indeed one of the biggest achievements of India.

#2: The study of Space:
India was the first country to find out the number of days required by the earth to revolve around the sun once. ISRO, that is the Indian Space Research Organisation, is amongst the top most space organisations in the world. It has made India proud time and again. India is the only country to reach mars in its very first attempt, and that too at a 10 times cheaper cost than that spent by the NASA of the USA. Also, in September 2009, India was the first ever country to discover water on moon, thanks to ISRO! India now also has its own GPS navigation system. ISRO in itself has to be one of the most amazing achievements of India!

India has given the world a lot of knowledge in the field of maths. The number system was first developed in India. The number zero and the ‘Place value system’ and the ‘Decimal System’ we developed in India as early as 100 B.C. Also, India developed the art of Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, etc. Pythagoras theorem was proved in India thousands of years before the European mathematician proved it.
Ayurveda is the oldest school of medicine known to human mankind. Also, our ancestors were well versed with complicated surgeries. Sushutra, the father of surgeries, conducted several complicated surgeries like cataract, artificial limbs, fractures, plastic surgeries and brain surgeries more than 2600 years ago! It is believed that the Indians were well versed with the usage of Anaesthesia. Knowledge of anatomy, digestion, metabolism, immunity, etc. has been found in many ancient Indian texts.

The Bandra Worli Sea Link, located in Mumbai, is considered to be one of the most iconic structures in the modern era. One of the most amazing things about this bridge is that it has steel wires which equal to the earth’s circumference. It took over 2,57,00,000 man hours for completion and weighs as many as 50,000 African elephants!

India is a result of world’s largest merger. Over 560 small princely states merged into the Union of India. It is one of the most incredible nations ever built in one of the most incredible ways ever! Bringing together so many provinces in itself is one of the biggest achievements of India.

India is the 6th nation in the world to acquire nuclear power. What is even more amazing is that India built this technology all alone, without the help of any other nation! It is also one of the only 5 nations to launch nuclear submarines. India has world’s fastest, and most accurate nuclear enabled missiles, e.i. the Brahmos; and the Agni and Prithvi respectively!
#8: Mother of religions:
India has been a mother to 4 big religions: Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism. These religions are followed by more than 25% of the world’s population. India also has a large number of people following Islam and Christianity. There is no restriction in practicing any religion in India and it is the most diversified nation on earth. Even after all these dissimilarities, people in India maintain peace and harmony throughout.
